I will teach you how to sing

About this gig
I am an excellent voice teacher, and I look forward to helping you to find freedom and pleasure in your singing. I teach the efficient, natural technique taught to me by the great basso Dimitri Kavrakos. (Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, etc.) I am happy to help you whether you are a complete beginner or have studied in the past, wanting to perhaps sing in the church choir, or prepare for college entrance auditions. I am an opera singer, but have helped rock singers to increase their range, and to sing in a way that they weren't getting laryngitis after rehearsals. The genre doesn't matter. The technique does. I am very knowledgeable about proper diction in Italian, French, German, and am conversant in those languages. I'd love for you to see a video of my singing, but that doesn't seem possible on this platform. I've performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall (8 major works, beginning with Beethoven's Missa Solemnis), Lincoln Center, in Europe, for the Wagner Society in Chicago, and I performed the role of Tosca with the legendary Maestro Vincent La Selva in NYC's Central Park. My young protegee has performed at Carnegie Recital Hall at age 15 and 17, from winning competitions.

FAQ
How is a lesson designed?
We do breathing and vocal exercises in the first half of the lesson, and then apply what is learned to whatever song you have chosen, or I can choose a song for you. I design the exercises based on what you need; it's not a cookie-cutter lesson.
