Book PR for self published authors releases press kits distribution
About this Gig
Journalists don't read press releases. They read the two lines of email it is attached to, then decide.
Most authors send "I've written a book, please review it" and never hear back. That email is the whole gate, and almost nobody writes it properly.
I write the pitch that gets opened: a subject line that isn't self-promotional, a first line that says why this editor, and a short body that hands them a story instead of asking a favour. Podcast hosts get a different one, because they want a guest, not a book.
WHAT YOU GET
- A journalist pitch email written from your book and your real angle
- 3 subject line options you can test
- A podcast pitch aimed at bookers, not reviewers (Standard, Premium)
- Short and long author bio, ready to paste (Standard, Premium)
- Follow-up emails, because one send is never enough (Standard, Premium)
Strongest fit: self-published and KDP authors running their own launch with no publicist.

FAQ
Isn't a press release enough? Why do I need a pitch email too?
A release is the document. The pitch is the email that makes someone open it. Editors get hundreds a day and decide from the subject line and first sentence. A strong release attached to a weak email never gets read.
What do you need from me to start?
Book title, genre, a short synopsis, author name, launch date, buy link if it's live, and one line on why you wrote it. Also tell me who you're pitching: journalists, podcasts, bloggers or reviewers.
I don't have a media list. Can you find people to pitch?
Contacts aren't in the packages, but you can add 25 journalist, podcast and blogger contacts in your genre as an extra. Without that, I write the pitches and you send them to the outlets you choose.
Which package should I pick?
Basic if you know who you're pitching and need one strong email. Standard if you're pitching podcasts as well as press. Premium if you want three tailored versions, both bios and the follow-up emails.
Do you send the emails for me?
No, you send them from your own address, and that's deliberate. A pitch from the author's own email gets opened far more often than one from a third party. I give you the copy and who it's aimed at.
How fast will I get it?
Basic 2 days, Standard 3 days, Premium 4 days, and 24 hours with the fast extra. Sending your book details in the first message rather than after ordering is what speeds it up most.
What counts as a revision?
Changes to the pitches I delivered: tone, angle, subject lines, length, or details to correct. Rewriting for a completely different book or a new set of outlets is a new order.
Will this guarantee interviews or reviews?
No, and be careful of anyone who says it will. A good pitch gets you opened and read, which is the part you can control. Whether a host books you depends on your angle, timing and their schedule.
Can you write the press release as well?
Yes, as a gig extra here, or through my dedicated press release gig if that's all you need. Premium also reformats a release you already have to newsroom standard so it matches the pitch.
You have no reviews yet. Why should I risk it?
Fair question. Message me your book details and I'll tell you the angle I would lead with and one subject line, free. If it doesn't sound like something an editor would open, don't order.
