What does an alpha reader do?
An alpha reader goes through a rough, first draft of your manuscript, to give you feedback on the overall structure of your work, the essence of the story, character development, etc. They look at the big picture and point out both strong and weak points as fellow authors.
What makes it different than beta reading?
The main difference is that alpha reading is more focused on the developmental phase of the manuscript, whereas beta reading is focused on the subjective impression of a reader-how a casual reader sees your work.
When should I hire an alpha reader?
If you're unsure about your hooks, plot twists, pacing, details about your world-building or a certain character arc-you're looking for an alpha reader.
Do you accept unfinished manuscripts?
Yes! Anything from an introductory chapter, half a manuscript or a complete rough draft.
Can I send you a list of questions?
Yes, please do! "How did you like this character?" "Are there enough plot twists?" "Is the pacing near the end too slow?" are some of the most common ones, and I will answer all your questions within the report.
Can I see your portfolio?
I do not publicly showcase my previous reader reports, but with the consent of published authors I have been working with, I can message you with a template and a sample of my work. Author's privacy comes first.
