About this Gig
I will beta read your novel excerpt or full manuscript! I read over 100 books each year outside of work and about 100 more during my work as an editor. Because of this, I can really pay attention to what makes your book stand out and what could use a little bit more work.
I am most familiar with the current market for the following genres: Young Adult, Romance, Erotica, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Literary Fiction, Poetry, and Pop History/Science/Nature Nonfiction. That said, I really have read a little bit of everything, and if you need assistance with another genre, I'm happy to be an outside reader.
This will include feedback on: tone, plot development, characters, setting, word choice, pacing, overarching themes, and any other additional categories you'd like me to pay attention to. I can also give suggestions for where to cut word count if that is a concern for your manuscript.
