Why need monthly server maintenance?

Server maintenance is process of keeping a server software updated and running so that a computer network can operate smoothly and avoid downtime or loss of data. Regular maintenance will keep the server running as expected and will help avoid a total or partial network failure.

I have done monthly server maintenance more than 1900 servers.

What I will do in monthly server maintenance?

1. Run yum update for run system updates

2. Update server kernel

3. Check server exim mail queue and clean frozen emails

4. Check easyapache updates

5. Ran upcp on the server to update cpanel/whm updates

6. Check memory utilization

7. Check CPU utilization

8. Update CSF firweall

9. Check /tmp for unwanted files

10. Check /dev/shm for malicious files

11. Scan website through imunify for malware and hacked codes. (only scanning)

12. Check apache, exim and mysql logs on the server.

13. Check current php and mysql processes.

14. Check server current load.

15. Check current php processes

16. Check disk space usage

17. Check server utilization
