- Supervised the testing and quality assurance of construction materials—concrete, asphalt, aggregate, bitumen, and subgrade soils—to ensure compliance with project specifications and international standards (ASTM, AASHTO, BS). - Assisted in comprehensive geotechnical and sub-soil investigations, including borehole logging, sampling, and laboratory testing to evaluate soil bearing capacity and material suitability for foundations and pavement layers. - Oversaw operations at concrete and bituminous mixing plants, verifying mix proportions, temperature, and compaction parameters for consistent material quality. - Designed and supervised concrete mix designs (C-10 to C-45) and asphalt mix designs using both 60/70 penetration grade and PG-76-18 polymer-modified bitumen. - Conducted daily field inspections focusing on earthwork, pavement laying, structural concrete works, asphalt paving, and bridge component installation, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols. - Monitored and inspected girder casting, reinforcement works, and pile construction to confirm structural integrity and dimensional accuracy. - Assisted the Resident Engineer (RE) in managing and coordinating daily site activities, promptly addressing the Contractor’s Requests for Inspection (RFI) and ensuring timely approvals. - Participated in pavement design reviews and recommended modifications based on field performance and material test data using mechanistic-empirical approaches. - Carried out existing pavement distress assessments, road condition surveys, and overlay design recommendations for maintenance and rehabilitation planning. - Maintained accurate quality documentation, material test reports, and inspection records to ensure traceability and compliance with QA/QC standards.
