Guitar Teacher

Glasbena šola Sežana /Glasbena šola Ilirska Bistrica • Full-time

Aug 2025 - Dec 20254 mos

As a teacher, I have taught students how to develop solid technical foundations, musicality, rhythm, sight reading, interpretation, and effective practice habits. I adapt lessons to each student's goals and learning style rather than following a single fixed method. With younger students, I focus on making the instrument accessible and enjoyable while gradually developing good technique and musical awareness. With more advanced students, I work on interpretation, technical difficulties, practice strategies, performance preparation, and developing an individual musical voice. This experience has given me a strong understanding of how to guide students through long-term musical development, including exam preparation, ensemble playing, and stage performance. Working in music schools has also strengthened my ability to support students with different learning speeds and backgrounds, while maintaining clear educational goals and consistent progress tracking. My teaching philosophy is based on combining strong classical guitar foundations with an individualized and supportive approach. I believe students progress most effectively when they understand not only what to practice, but also how to practice. My goal is to help students become increasingly independent musicians who can understand their instrument, practice effectively, solve problems, express themselves musically, and approach performances with greater confidence and stability. My long-term goal is to continue developing as a classical guitarist, teacher, and educator while expanding The Centered Musician as a resource for musicians who want to improve both their technical skills and their mental approach to music.
