About me
I am a Mechanical Engineer specializing in structural design and advanced materials, with a proven track record of turning complex concepts into manufacturing-ready realities. My engineering philosophy is simple: a great design is only as good as its manufacturability. As the former Chief Engineer and Head of Manufacturing for an international foiling sailboat team, I led the end-to-end development of high-performance composite crafts. Chief Project Engineer

Aug 2024 - Present2 yrs

Led a multidisciplinary engineering team for the SuMoth Challenge, overseeing the complete development lifecycle of the "Atlas" SuMoth, an high-performance foiling sailboat. My focus was on bridging the gap between advanced structural design and hands-on manufacturing, while ensuring the optimal integration of each system and component. Directed the global technical strategy, balancing strict rulebook constraints, sustainable material alternatives, budget caps, and manufacturing feasibility. Retained active involvement in composite FEM analysis to ensure part reliability, while minimizing overall carbon fiber adoption in favour of the far more sustainable flax fiber. Secured key industry sponsorships, coordinated cross-functional workshop shifts, and ensured strict adherence to project milestones. Successfully guided the team to a 2nd place finish (S1upg category) in our debut international competition, delivering a fully operational, sustainable foiling craft that flew above the waters of Lake Garda.

Head of Manufacturing Department

Mar 2024 - Aug 20251 yr 5 mos

As the Head of Manufacturing departmentment, I am responsible for managing a team of 30 in building each components designed with my team for a Moth Class sailboat, that competes against other university teams at the SuMoth Challenge, during the Foiling Week at Lake Garda. I focus on designing and manufacture: resin infusion processes, molds for RTM and vaRTM processes, and molds for prepreg fibers. In particular in this Page 1 of 2 year we realized the carbon-flax prepreg hull and a pair of foil using vaRTM and polyurethane split molds. The design was done using Rhinoceros 7, Fusion 360 (CAM), ANSYS Mechanical. Through this project i developed my skills in mentioned software and strengthened my teamwork, communication and leadership abilities, while dealing with Unforeseen events and deadlines.
