El-Mohasel was born in Tripoli in 1974, arriving in Germany via Amman and East Berlin. She began working with analog photography at the age of 14. She completed her training in photography and optics in a town on the lower Lower Rhine. Travels to Greece, Spain, France, Portugal, Ireland and the USA followed. Her adopted country is Austria; she has been able to realize many artistic projects in Graz and Vienna since 2005.
