What is Power Query? I never heard of it.
It is already inside your Excel, free, no install. It records the cleaning steps you do by hand. Next month you press Refresh All and it redoes all of them in seconds. You do not need to learn it. I build it, you press one button.
Do you use VBA macros?
No. I use Power Query, which is built into Excel. Your file stays a normal .xlsx, it does not trigger macro security warnings, and your IT team will not block it. You refresh with one click from the Data tab.
Will it work on my computer?
Yes if you have Excel 2016 or newer, or Microsoft 365, on Windows. Mac Excel supports most of it but not all. Tell me your version before you order and I will confirm.
Do I have to send you my real data?
No. Replace real names and numbers with fake ones. I only need the same column names and the same layout. It will still work when you put your real data back in.
A new file arrives every month. Can it still work?
Yes, that is the best case for this. I point the query at a folder. You drop the new file in, press Refresh All, and the report updates. Included in Standard and Premium.
What if I want to change something later?
Message me. Inside your revision limit it is free. After that, small changes are usually one gig extra. Premium buyers get 30 days of support included.
Can you connect Google Sheets or a database?
Sometimes yes. Power Query can read web links, SQL and some online services. Message me first with what you use and I will tell you honestly if it is possible.
How do I know the numbers are correct?
I add a check tab. It shows total rows in and total rows out, and flags any row that failed a rule. Nothing is hidden. Full check rules are included in Premium.
