What I do
I review, edit and advise on personal statements for undergraduate university applicants. I also offer interview preparation for humanities subjects.
Who I am
I read Politics and IR at Cambridge. I also work as a legal researcher, write on international affairs, and have experience in policy and research. I know what it looks like when someone can genuinely think about a subject versus performs interest in it; that distinction is the whole basis of how I was assessed and interviewed.

How it works
You send a draft. I return an annotated file plus a report covering:

FAQ
Which package should I choose?
Basic if you're early and want direction. Standard if you have a full draft and a deadline; most applicants need this one. Premium if you'll be interviewed, since the call covers defending what you've written. Message me if you're unsure.
What subjects do you cover?
Humanities and social sciences are my specialism: politics, IR, HSPS, law, history, English, sociology. I've also worked on pharmacology, computer science and design applications. If your subject falls outside what I can usefully assess, I'll say so rather than take the order.
What do you need from me?
Your draft, the courses and universities you're applying to, and your deadline. If you have a specific worry — it's too long, the ending is weak, you're not sure it sounds like you — tell me and I'll prioritise that.
How many rounds does it take?
Most applicants use two or three. Round one is substance and argument; round two is precision, flow and depth. Revisions are included in every package, so send it back once you've rewritten.
What will the feedback actually look like?
An annotated file with comments on specific sentences, plus a summary at the top telling you what to fix first. Detailed, but ordered by priority so you're not facing forty comments with no hierarchy.
I'm not a native English speaker. Can you still help?
Yes. I'll work on clarity and academic register alongside argument. Universities assess how you think, not whether your English is flawless, but the writing shouldn't get in the way of the thinking.
Will you write my personal statement for me?
No. UCAS requires the work to be your own, and a statement you didn't write collapses under interview questioning. I work on a draft you've written: feedback, structural edits, model wording to adapt, and suggested evidence to research.
