About this gig
Is your PHP application running an outdated version or experiencing compatibility errors?
I will help you upgrade your PHP-powered site to a newer supported version, resolve compatibility issues, and test essential functionality.
My services include:
- PHP version and hosting compatibility checks
- PHP upgrades and configuration
- Deprecated function and error fixes
- WordPress and custom PHP troubleshooting
- Backup preparation and upgrade assistance
- Testing essential pages, forms, and features
- Post-upgrade verification and reporting
How it works:
I assess your application, check dependencies, agree on the scope, prepare a backup where possible, implement the upgrade, and test the agreed functionality.
Important: The target PHP version depends on your code, plugins, dependencies, and hosting environment. Package page limits do not mean unlimited application functionality. Major rewrites, paid extensions, server migrations, complex integrations, and unrelated repairs are excluded unless agreed separately.

FAQ
Q. Can you upgrade my website to the latest PHP version?
A. Yes, subject to compatibility. I will assess your website, hosting environment, framework, and dependencies before recommending a supported target PHP version.
Q: Will my website stop working after the PHP upgrade?
A: I take precautions to minimise risk, including backup preparation where possible and post-upgrade testing. However, unsupported code or third-party plugins may cause issues, so uninterrupted operation cannot be guaranteed.
Q: Do you work with WordPress and custom PHP websites?
A: Yes. I can assess WordPress and custom PHP websites. Compatibility depends on the theme, plugins, framework, dependencies, and hosting environment.
Q: What information do you need before starting?
A: Please provide your website URL, current PHP version if known, hosting provider, platform or framework, any error messages, and your target version if known.
Q: Are bug fixes and major code changes included?
A: Packages include only the work stated in their descriptions. Minor fixes may be included in upgrade packages. Major code rewrites, complex integrations, and unrelated bugs require a separate quote.
Q: Do you provide a backup before upgrading?
A: I will create or verify a backup where hosting access and available tools permit. Please disclose any backup limitations. A backup should be restorable before making changes.
