I can help you learn how to decode written French and read it aloud correctly, step by step.

I am a CELTA-qualified language teacher with 15 years of experience giving private language lessons. I speak French fluently and have developed a structured approach to teaching French reading and pronunciation.

My method focuses on understanding the relationship between French spelling and sound. You will learn to recognise common letter combinations, understand which letters are pronounced or silent, and gradually apply these patterns when you meet unfamiliar words.

One of the aims is to help you reach the point where you can look at a French word you have never seen before and have a good idea of how to pronounce it even if you don't yet know what the word means.

Depending on the package, we can work on:

• French letters and sound combinations
• common spelling-to-sound patterns
• silent letters and endings
• reading unfamiliar words
• reading phrases, sentences and short texts
• exercises to practise between lessons

You don't need previous knowledge of French. Complete beginners are very welcome.
