We agree which columns define a duplicate and which record wins. Exact duplicates follow that rule; uncertain matches stay separate. Date and phone formats are standardized only under agreed rules.

Practice proof: 615 fictional input rows reconcile to 495 contacts, 110 exact duplicate merges and 10 empty rows removed. The sample is not client work.
