About me
I have been an entrepreneur since 1997 and one of the first social entrepreneurs in the Netherlands. I founded Valid Express in 1999 and sold it to PostNL in 2012, and Dutch Dynamite has been going since 1997. I also invented an oil cap against head lice that was not a success, so I know both sides. Today I run Boho Experience, a conscious resort.

Since 2023 I run Boho Experience in the Netherlands, a conscious resort and retreat location with a farmhouse, a summer house, a wellness and nature all around. I do everything an owner does: positioning and pricing, building the websites and booking flow, marketing, partnerships with retreat hosts and companies, hosting guests and managing the team and volunteers on site. Alongside Boho, I still run Dutch Dynamite, the salty liquorice liqueur I created in 1997 while working in a bar in Amsterdam. I developed the recipe myself, with a distiller, and built the brand from the first bottles I sold to national distribution through a leading Dutch drinks wholesaler. Running two businesses for decades has made me very aware of how clarity and trust decide whether someone books or buys. I bring that practical view to reviewing business plans, financial plans, growth plans and websites.

In 1999 I founded Valid Express, a courier company that gave people with physical limitations real work. I started it for my brother, who has a hereditary muscle disease and could not find an employer willing to hire him. It became one of the first social enterprises in the Netherlands. I built it from the ground up: the idea, the funding from foundations and funds, the first customers and the team. When the company nearly went under, I secured the support that kept it going. In 2012 I sold Valid Express to PostNL. Building a business that had to be financially sound and socially meaningful at the same time taught me how to test whether a plan really holds together, which is what I now do for other entrepreneurs.
