I work as the only infrastructure engineer in the company, covering Linux system administration, virtualization, networking, automation, monitoring, backups, security and incident troubleshooting. I manage around 15 servers and VMs across 4 providers and an internal Proxmox VE environment, plus infrastructure for 170+ websites. I maintain Linux servers, Docker/Docker Compose services, Nginx/HAProxy reverse proxies, DNS, SSL, databases, backups and access control. Main work: - Build Ansible playbooks and Bash scripts for server provisioning, domain setup, SSL automation, website migration and routine operations. - Maintain monitoring and alerting with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, exporters and Zabbix. - Manage MikroTik routing, WireGuard/OpenVPN, Bind9 DNS, backup internet channel and firewall rules. - Administer MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, GitLab and GitLab CI/CD pipelines. - Document infrastructure in Wiki.js: runbooks, diagrams, troubleshooting notes and operational procedures. Key results: - Built infrastructure for proverka-cheka.ru from scratch: Docker services, Nginx, GitLab CI/CD, monitoring, logs, alerts and Ansible deployment. - Stopped API limit abuse by investigating logs and adding request correlation, SmartCaptcha, rate limiting, a request queue and fail2ban. - Automated recovery for a 170+ website platform, reducing rebuild time from days to hours. - Migrated GitLab, WireGuard, Wiki.js, Vaultwarden, GLPI, monitoring, Bitrix24 and FreePBX between cloud providers and Proxmox without data loss.
