Festo

Senior Mechanical Product Design Engineer

Festo • Freelance

Apr 2026 - Jun 2026 • 2 mos

I worked on the development of industrial and mechanical products from initial concept through manufacturing ready CAD. My responsibilities included SolidWorks modeling, product architecture, mechanism development, assembly design, tolerance planning, DFM review and technical documentation. Projects included robotics equipment, automation housings, mechanical brackets, protective machine covers, automotive accessories and industrial product assemblies. I developed parametric parts and assemblies, STEP files, fabrication drawings and production documentation while considering machining, sheet metal fabrication, fasteners, component clearances and assembly sequence. A major part of my role involved identifying fit, tolerance and manufacturing problems before production. I supported prototype revisions, supplier feedback and design optimization to simplify manufacturing and improve reliability.

Aug 2025 - Dec 2025 • 4 mos

I specialized in mechanical CAD for automotive accessories, vehicle interior components and industrial products. My work involved creating accurate SolidWorks and Fusion 360 models from sketches, reference parts, measurements and engineering specifications. I developed dashboard mounts, brackets, trim components, holders, mechanical adapters, equipment housings and structural assemblies. Deliverables included editable CAD, STEP, STL, DXF and dimensioned technical drawings. I also reviewed designs for machining access, wall thickness, fastening, tolerances, fit and assembly. When existing concepts were difficult or expensive to manufacture, I redesigned the geometry to reduce unnecessary complexity while maintaining function. My focus was to create practical engineering CAD that suppliers and manufacturers could use directly for prototyping and production.
