I will assess and rescue your struggling IT or software project
IT Consultant Systems Integration, Automation App Development
About this Gig
Is your technology project slipping, stalled, over budget, or simply harder to manage than it should be?
I help businesses identify what is preventing an IT or software project from moving forward and create a practical recovery plan.
I can review project scope, requirements, priorities, milestones, risks, dependencies, team responsibilities, vendor performance, delivery practices, and stakeholder alignment to determine where the project is breaking down.
With 25+ years of technology and project leadership experience, I bring both project-management discipline and technical understanding to the assessment.
Depending on your package, you may receive:
- Project health assessment
- Key risks, issues, and blockers
- Scope and requirements findings
- Vendor and delivery observations
- Prioritized recovery actions
- Revised priorities and milestones
- 3060 day stabilization roadmap
- Project reset recommendations
This Gig focuses on assessment and recovery planning. Ongoing project management, implementation oversight, development, and fractional PM support can be scoped separately.

FAQ
What types of projects can you review?
I specialize in technology initiatives including software development, application implementations, systems integrations, ERP/platform projects, automation, data and reporting initiatives, modernization projects, and vendor-led technology implementations.
How do I know if my project needs a rescue assessment?
Common signs include missed deadlines, unclear priorities, changing requirements, repeated rework, unresolved issues, poor communication, vendor concerns, budget pressure, unclear ownership, or simply not knowing the true status of the project.
Do you need the project to be in serious trouble?
No. A project health check can also be useful when leadership senses that delivery is beginning to drift and wants to address problems before they become more serious.
Will you tell us who is at fault?
The purpose of the assessment is not to assign blame. I focus on the conditions affecting delivery—scope, requirements, decisions, risks, dependencies, resources, communication, governance, vendors, and execution—and what needs to change to move forward.
Can you review a project being delivered by an outside vendor?
Yes. I can independently review vendor deliverables, milestones, responsibilities, dependencies, communication, risks, and alignment with your business requirements. This is not a legal or contractual audit.
Can you work with Agile projects?
Yes. I have experience with Agile, Scrum, hybrid, and Waterfall delivery environments and can review backlogs, requirements, sprint/release practices, milestones, dependencies, governance, and delivery controls.
What documents should I provide?
Helpful materials may include the project plan, requirements, backlog, statement of work, timeline, status reports, RAID log, meeting notes, vendor documentation, architecture diagrams, budgets, or other materials related to the project. You do not need to have all of these.
What if our project documentation is incomplete?
That is fine—and sometimes incomplete documentation is part of the problem. I can begin with the information you have and identify important gaps as part of the assessment.
Will you create a new project plan?
The Standard and Premium packages include recovery planning and recommended priorities or milestones. A complete detailed project plan, backlog rebuild, or ongoing project-management engagement can be scoped separately if needed.
Can you stay on and help manage the recovery?
Yes. If the assessment shows that ongoing leadership would help, we can discuss a separate custom engagement for project recovery, implementation oversight, or fractional technical project/program management.
