Hi, I’m Nora Blakes!
A Virginia-born graphics designer with almost a decade of experience and parent who turns manuscripts into shelf-ready covers while the kids are at soccer.
After earning my BFA in Visual Communication from Virginia Commonwealth University, I traded late-night studio sessions for late-night lullabies, raising two spirited kids while building a studio career that keeps bedtime stories and book covers equally alive.

I also develop expressive characters, page compositions, backgrounds, and full-book visual direction while maintaining character consistency throughout each story. I prepare high-resolution artwork with trim size, bleed, safe margins, and print requirements in mind.

It's hard for me to describe the visual I have in my head of my book, and I'm not the best at conveying it in words. Nora is intuitive and has the knowledge and experience to figure out what it is that I am looking for. She's amazing and so easy to work with. Her illustrations bring to life the story I am trying to tell.
