About me
Nuno Silva is a professional musician from Portugal, playing ethnic string instruments.
Having started his musical education deeply embedded in western culture, since 2010 he has embraced the tradition of makam music as his main influence. Self-taught for most of his career, throughout the years he had the opportunity of studying with masters which include Ali Bahramifard (santur), Gürsel Torun (oud), Tareq Jundi (oud), Muhittin Kemal (kanun), among others.
Currently, he collaborates with local and international music projects and pursues a solo career as session musician and producer.

This was my first time writing a part for Hammered Dulcimer and what I came up with was not easily played on the instrument, but you wouldn't know it listening to the recordings Nuno sent. He went above and beyond to deliver outstanding recordings that reflect my vision. Looking forward to working with him again !

An excellent musician, outstanding sound quality of recording and fast turnaround. Very skilled on both the oud and qanun. Once we clarified the direction, the delivery was outstanding. Highly recommended, especially as good qanun players with proper recording facilities are not easy to find!
