About this Gig
I am a passionate reader and writer of all types of fiction who will provide thoughtful and honest feedback for any piece of work. My go-to genres are fantasy, romance, mystery, gothic and supernatural, but I am more than able to provide useful critiques for work of any genre.
As part of my beta reading, I will offer you my first impressions, thoughts on character, plot, pacing, and structure, and suggestions on how to improve any of these areas. I will also provide feedback on grammar, spelling, dialogue, description, action, flow, voice, tone, and typos.
If you want me to read an excerpt of your manuscript, I can also provide a write up of my expectations for the rest of the book: what I think will happen to various characters, with various plot points, or with any genre tropes employed.
If your book or story is too long, I can provide suggestions to trim it down to your desired length.
I am very aware of when a book just isn't for me, and take care not to let subjective opinions cloud objective judgements.

Are there any genres you won't read?
No, I will read any genre. There are some genres I wouldn't choose to read for fun (eg. Westerns) but I am willing to beta read anything and everything, and will make sure not to let my feedback be clouded by personal taste.
Do you use AI?
No. I will never use AI in any part of the process. Everything I read is read by me, and all feedback will be from me. I will never put anyone's work into an AI machine.
Do you read NSFW?
I will read anything. However, if your work contains something particularly dark (rape/non-con, torture, very explicit violence/gore) please give me a heads up!
