Mechanical Engineer – Challenge Apparel As a Mechanical Engineer at Challenge Apparel, I am responsible for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of mechanical systems, production machinery, utilities, and equipment within the manufacturing facility. My role involves preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment optimization, and continuous improvement to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency. Plan and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for mechanical machinery and production equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical failures, reducing unexpected breakdowns and minimizing production downtime. Supervise installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment and machinery. Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness. Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to ensure smooth and uninterrupted manufacturing operations. Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement permanent corrective and preventive actions. Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, spare-parts requirements, and technical documentation. Ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently while following company safety procedures and engineering standards. Assist in equipment modifications, machine upgrades, and engineering improvement projects to enhance productivity. Manage emergency breakdowns under pressure and prioritize repairs according to production requirements. Work closely with technicians, operators, and other engineering departments to resolve complex mechanical and operational issues. Support energy-efficiency and cost-reduction initiatives by optimizing equipment performance and reducing unnecessary maintenance and energy consumption. Apply engineering principles, technical knowledge, and practical problem-solving skills to improve plant reliability and production performance.
