I took full ownership of the Google Business Profile (GBP) verification process. This was a critical engagement because roofing and home improvement services are classified as high-scrutiny categories by Google, often requiring rigorous proof of legitimacy to prevent profile suspension. My primary objective was to transition the business from an unverified state to a fully functional, lead-generating asset in the local map pack for the Cambridgeshire region. I initiated the project by conducting a comprehensive audit of the company’s digital footprint to ensure "NAP" (Name, Address, Phone Number) consistency across all trade directories, including Checkatrade and TrustATrader. This foundational step was essential to build algorithmic trust before triggering the verification request. Because Fen Land Roofline operates as a Service-Area Business (SAB) without a traditional walk-in storefront, I had to navigate the complex "Video Verification" workflow. I provided the client with a strategic storyboard to film a continuous, unedited video that documented their branded service vehicles, professional roofing equipment, and official business registration documents to satisfy Google’s manual review requirements. Once the "Verified" status was secured, I transitioned into profile optimization to maximize local search visibility. I strategically defined the service areas—covering Willingham, Cambridge, and surrounding towns—and curated a high-impact gallery of fascia, soffit, and guttering projects. By correctly Categorizing the business and implementing a custom review-generation link for the field team, I established a professional digital storefront that directly increased inbound quote requests. This project demonstrated my ability to overcome high-barrier technical hurdles and deliver a verified, high-authority presence for a specialized trade business.
