About this gig
Have a FastAPI or Python API that breaks, or one with no tests? I fix the bug and add tests, so you can change your code with confidence.
What I do:
- Reproduce the bug, find the cause, and fix it
- Add a test that fails before the fix and passes after
- Write unit and API tests with pytest and FastAPI TestClient
- Add database tests for PostgreSQL where needed
- Set up GitHub Actions to run tests and linting on every push (Premium)
What you receive:
- The fix or tests as a pull request or patch file
- A short note explaining the cause and the change
- Commands to run the tests yourself
I test my own work the same way: my multi-tenant ticket API has 599 automated tests, 157 of them against a real PostgreSQL database (see my portfolio).
Not included: rewriting the whole project, frontend bugs, server or deployment problems.

What counts as one bug?
One problem with one cause, for example an endpoint returning the wrong status code. If it turns out to be several separate problems, I will tell you before continuing.
