I'll write an engaging children's book for your child. You can provide the details of the story or direction you'd like to take. Otherwise, I will come up with my own original concept. Please note that I don't do formal illustrations.
- Board Book: Ages 0-5. 0 to ~100 words. <300 for babies.
- Early Young Picture Book: 0 to ~200-400 words. <500 words for toddlers.
- Basic Picture Book: Ages 27. 50 to ~500-600 words & 32 pages. <1,000 words for preschoolers.
- Nonfiction Picture Book: 500 to ~1,000-2,000 words. <5,000.
- Early Reader: Ages 5-7. 200 to ~1,500 words. A step up from picture books, these are for kids who have just started reading by themselves. They are short books, usually with a lot of illustrations. <3,500 words for 8 yrs.
- Young Readers Chapter Book: Ages 6-9. 3,500-10,000 words. <15,000 & 100 pages depending on grade & reader level.
- Young Middle Grade or MG: 15,000-25,000 words
- Middle Grade or MG: Ages 9-12. 25,000-30,000 words. <45,000 words
- Upper Middle Grade: Ages 12-15. ~65,000 words. <70,000
- Young Adult or YA: Ages 14-adult. 45,000-70,000 words. <85,000 words

Board Books, Target Ages: 0–5 years, Target Word Count: less than 300. Meant to be read to children who are early emerging readers.
They may or may not span time, & if they do, it will be no longer than a short period, definitely less than a day. Sometimes board books will not tell a story, but rather follow a theme. For example, the pages may simply list a color & have an accompanying illustration.
Picture Books, Target Ages: 2–7, Target Word Count: 400–900. ~32 pages long, including the cover pages, introductions, & back flaps.
Universal themes & offer intriguing or kid-relatable situations while challenging the reader’s or listener’s imagination. Approachable themes & there is usually one main character, one plot, & one storyline. Picture books use rhythm & cadence to engage the young listener & they employ repetition.
Early Readers, Ages: 5–8 yrs, Word Count: 1,000–2,500. Slightly more text than in average picture book. 32 to 64 pages, with simple, repetitive text.
Usually, every page or every other page has an illustration. These books are targeted towards new & emerging readers & often repeat a particular sight word or phrase for these early readers to memorize. They have a simple sentence structure, can be read aloud or silently, & often come in series form
Chapter Books, Ages: 7–10 yrs, Word Count: 4,000–12,000. Subplots & more complex story lines. Few to no illustrations <100 pages.
They're for young advancing readers, typically for elementary school-aged children. Can range in difficulty with some offering simple language to more complex sentence structures & plot lines. Many chapter books are single character or subject-based & they may contain a simple subplot or two.
What's the Process?
Please message us before 1) Consultation - We find out what you want like names, topics, themes, keywords, etc. 2) Outline - I'll create a book outline based on the discussed ideas. 3) Writing - Upon approval of the outline, I'll write your book. And that's it! You have your very own children's book
What if I don't see what I want like expedited time, word count, or language?
Please message me if you want something that's not listed. I'm flexible and I don't overpromise. I will do my best to accommodate your requests. I feel most comfortable writing in English, but ask me about Portuguese and Spanish if you prefer.
Can you also provide illustrations for my book?
No. I'm still working on my illustration skills, so for now I only provide the words.
Can you write a personal story using my family and friends?
Absolutely, just send me all of the details you want to be included like names, descriptions, hobbies, themes, keywords, etc. and I'll make them the characters and settings.
