Typesetting is the layout — placing text and illustrations correctly, setting margins, trim size, and page flow. Editing is a light copyedit pass for grammar and read-aloud flow. This gig covers both so your book looks professionally published and reads smoothly.
Do you work with illustrated picture books, or just text-heavy children's books?
Both. I lay out fully illustrated picture books (text + image placement on every page) as well as early readers and illustrated chapter books with less dense artwork.
Can you format for both print and Kindle in one order?

What files do I need to send you?
Your manuscript text (Word or Google Doc) plus your illustration files (JPEG or PNG, highest resolution available). If your illustrator provided a style guide or page order, include that too.

How do I know the layout will look right before final delivery?
