I will develop a custom 2d prototype in godot 4

About this gig
Have a game idea but need someone to bring it to life? I'd love to help!
I'm a Godot developer with experience building and publishing my own games. I specialize in 2D gameplay programming, game mechanics, and rapid prototyping using Godot and GDScript.
I've worked on everything from small game jam projects, like ThawStroke, which ranked in the top 8% of its competition, to larger projects involving interconnected gameplay systems.
What I can help you with:
- Playable 2D game prototypes
- Custom gameplay mechanics and interactions
- Player movement, combat, and physics systems
- Inventory, scoring, and progression systems
- Basic UI, menus, and scene management
- Testing, debugging, and improving existing mechanics
I care about more than just making something work. I want the gameplay to feel good, the code to be clean and maintainable, and the final result to reflect your vision.
Every package includes the Godot project files and source code. I use placeholder or client-provided assets, with custom artwork available as an extra.
Whether you're testing a new concept or building the foundation for a bigger game, feel free to message me! I'd be happy to discuss your ideas and figure out the best

FAQ
Is custom game art included?
The standard packages focus on programming and gameplay development, using placeholder or client-provided assets. If you'd like original artwork for your game, you can add the Custom Game Art extra!
What does the Custom Game Art extra include?
For $35, I'll create up to 3 simple, original 2D game assets, such as sprites, items, props, or UI icons. This includes static artwork, not animations or complex character designs. If you need more detailed artwork or a larger set of assets, feel free to message me for a custom quote!
What counts as a level in a prototype?
For this Gig, a level means a small, playable test environment designed to demonstrate your game's mechanics. Levels may reuse assets and gameplay systems, as the focus is on testing the concept rather than creating fully polished game worlds.
Do I need to provide my own assets?
Not necessarily! I can use placeholder or appropriately licensed free assets to build your prototype. If you already have artwork, sounds, or other assets you'd like me to use, you're welcome to send them over.
Will I receive the Godot project files and source code?
Absolutely! Every package includes the complete Godot project files and GDScript source code, so you'll be able to open, edit, and continue developing the project yourself.
What do revisions include?
Revisions cover reasonable adjustments to the features we've agreed on, such as tweaking movement, balancing mechanics, or improving existing interactions. New mechanics or major changes to the original concept may require an additional order.
Can you develop a complete game instead of a prototype?
Yes! I also work on larger Godot projects. This Gig is specifically focused on prototyping, but if you're interested in developing a complete game, feel free to contact me with your idea and we can discuss the scope, timeline, and pricing.
