FAQ
Can you remove speech errors, stutters, pauses, ums and ahhs?
Of course! I will do everything required in order to make your podcast sound as concise and coherent as possible.
Why were there some "umms/ahhs" left in my audio?
Sometimes, you make the choice to leave an "um" or "uh" in there in order for things to sound as natural as possible, as if human beings said it rather than a couple of chat robots. :) Sometimes the removal of an "um" would make an odd transition, so whether or not to keep one is a matter of taste.
Can you help with volume leveling?
Of course! That being said, the number one thing you can do to help your show is to provide a track for each speaker. Audio files where everything is recorded down to one track, or where everyone is speaking into one mic can be much more challenging to fix and sound natural.
Can you reduce background noise?
Yes, what I call broadband background noise is something I can deal with simply and easily, as I literally have every plugin out there for dealing with such things. More specific noises, such as phones ringing, sirens, birds, will require extra work, which will incur extra costs and time.
Can you include pre-made adverts into my audio?
I can certainly do that, I offer it as part of the silver and gold packages.
Can you add in backing music?
Yes, I can easily mix in your supplied music. This feature is offered as part of the silver and gold packages.
What file type do I need to provide?
It's best if you deliver full bandwidth (non-lossy) files like WAV, or AIFF, but if you have MP3/AAC etc, I can still work with it. It's just best practice to start with the highest quality source materials. If you want to send an AAF/OMF, I can import those as well.
My podcast is a video file, can you still help?
Yes, I can either convert the audio from the video file and edit it, or you can provide individual stems of the voices required, or an OMF/AAF as needed. I can edit full podcasts as videos, but discuss it with me beforehand, as it will cost extra.
My files are too big to upload, how do I get them to you?
You can upload your files to Dropbox, or Google Drive (both have free versions), and then you create and share the link to me in the order window. It is not necessary to have any contact info from me to do this, just paste the shared link and I can grab your file(s).
How will you deliver the finished file to me?
Well, if you let me know the delivery medium that you use to distribute your podcasts, I will master it for the highest quality available for that standard, unless you have your own specs that you require, in which case, I'll send you those.
