The problem with extracting data from documents is never the first ten. It is document eleven, where the vendor changed their invoice layout and the total landed in the wrong column, and nobody noticed for a month.
I build extraction that handles layout variance instead of breaking on it, and that flags fields it is unsure about rather than quietly guessing.
What I extract: invoices, purchase orders, receipts, contracts, medical and lab records, reports, forms, statements. Scanned documents with no text layer work too, with OCR.
What you get back: your data as Excel, CSV or JSON, with a confidence score on each field so you know which rows a human should glance at. On the larger packages you get a script you can run yourself on new documents, not just a one-time delivery.
At my day job I built a GenAI document extractor that turns thousands of dense PDF pages into validated structured data, and cut the processing overhead on it by about 30% without losing output quality.

My documents all look different. Does that break it?
It is the normal case, and it is the reason to send samples first. A handful of layouts is routine. If your documents are genuinely all different, I will tell you that the accuracy will be lower and let you decide, rather than finding out after you have paid.
How accurate is it?
On clean documents with consistent fields, high. On poor scans or unusual layouts, lower, which is exactly why every field comes with a confidence score. You check the uncertain ones instead of trusting all of them blindly.
Is my data confidential?
Yes. Send redacted samples if you prefer, I delete the files once the order is complete, and I am happy to sign an NDA before you send anything.
