About this Gig
Having trouble with embedded firmware?
I will investigate and debug software issues across STM32, ESP32, Arduino, AVR, PIC, 8051, RP2040, nRF, ARM Cortex-M and other MCU platforms when the source code and required toolchain are available.
I can help with:
- Crashes, hangs, resets and startup failures
- GPIO, timers, PWM, ADC, interrupts and DMA
- UART, SPI, I2C, CAN and communication bugs
- Sensor drivers, peripheral setup and incorrect readings
- FreeRTOS task, timing and synchronization issues
- Build errors, logic bugs and code review
You will receive a clear diagnosis, a targeted code fix or patch where feasible, and notes explaining the changes and how to verify them. I work with embedded C/C++, bare-metal firmware, HAL/LL, register-level code and vendor SDKs.
Before ordering, send the MCU, IDE/toolchain, relevant source files, error logs, expected versus actual behavior, and steps to reproduce the issue.
Physical hardware faults, PCB redesign, major rewrites, and fixes requiring unavailable hardware or evidence are excluded unless agreed in advance. For complex issues, please message me before ordering so we can confirm the scope.

FAQ
Which microcontrollers can you debug?
I can work with STM32, ESP32, Arduino-compatible MCUs, AVR, PIC, 8051, RP2040, nRF and other microcontrollers when the relevant source code, toolchain and technical information are available. Please share the exact MCU and development environment before ordering
Can you debug existing embedded C or C++ firmware?
Yes. I can investigate existing embedded C/C++ projects, identify likely software faults and provide a targeted code fix when the issue can be diagnosed from the supplied source code and evidence. The scope depends on the selected package.
What types of firmware bugs can you investigate?
Examples include build errors, incorrect logic, unexpected resets, hangs, incorrect sensor readings, peripheral configuration, UART/SPI/I2C communication issues, interrupt problems and certain FreeRTOS timing or synchronization issues. Hardware-dependent faults may require additional evidence.
Do you work with FreeRTOS and bare-metal firmware?
Yes, where the project and toolchain are supported. I can investigate relevant task logic, scheduling symptoms, synchronization issues, interrupt handling and bare-metal firmware faults. Please describe the issue and provide the relevant source files.
Do I need to send you the physical hardware?
Not necessarily. Many software issues can be investigated using source code, logs and reproducible test cases. However, some faults require the physical board, a debugger, a logic analyser or measurements. I will confirm whether the available evidence is sufficient before accepting a complex task.
What will I receive after debugging?
Depending on your package, you will receive a diagnosis or a targeted code patch, an explanation of the findings and verification steps. Hardware validation is included only when explicitly agreed and the required equipment is available.
Can you guarantee that every bug will be fixed?
No. Some faults depend on unavailable hardware, undocumented components, intermittent behaviour or incomplete project files. I will assess the supplied evidence and work within the agreed scope. Please contact me before ordering unusually complex or hadware-dependent cases.
Can you debug an entire firmware project or fix multiple bugs?
The listed packages cover one defined issue, not unlimited troubleshooting or a complete project rewrite. Multiple bugs, major refactoring, extensive reverse engineering or large projects require a scope review and may need a custom offer.
What should I send before placing an order?
Please provide the MCU part number, IDE and toolchain, relevant source files, expected versus actual behaviour, reproduction steps and any available error logs. Schematics and wiring details are useful for peripheral-related issues. Remove secrets from all files.
Can you develop new firmware instead of fixing existing code?
This gig focuses on debugging existing firmware. If you need a new feature, a driver developed from scratch or a complete firmware implementation, please contact me so we can determine whether your existing embedded firmware development gig or a custom offer is the better fit.
