I will extract data from PDF files into clean excel or CSV
About this Gig
Invoices, bank statements, reports, price lists. If the data is trapped in a PDF and someone is retyping it by hand, that is a script waiting to happen.
What I handle:
Tables spread across many pages
Invoices and statements with a repeating layout
Reports where the same fields sit in different places each time
Multiple PDFs merged into one structured file
Output as Excel or CSV, formatted the way you need it
I work in Python. For text-based PDFs the extraction is exact rather than retyped, so no typos creep in and nothing gets skipped.
One thing to check before ordering. If your PDF is a scan or a photo of a document, the text is not selectable and the job needs OCR, which is different work. Open the file and try to highlight the text with your mouse. If it highlights, I can extract it. If it does not, message me first and I will tell you honestly whether it is worth doing.
Send a sample and tell me which fields you actually need. I confirm scope and price before you order, and I say so plainly if the file is outside what I can do well.

FAQ
My PDF is a scan. Can you still extract it?
Scans need OCR, which is a different process and less accurate. Open the file and try to select the text with your cursor. If it highlights, the PDF is text-based and extraction is exact. If it does not, message me before ordering and I will tell you what is realistic.
The layout changes from page to page. Is that a problem?
Usually not, as long as the fields themselves are consistent. Send two or three pages that look different from each other and I will confirm before you order.
Can I get the script rather than just the file?
Yes, that is what the Premium package includes. You get the Python source so next month's batch is one command instead of a new order.
How do you handle sensitive documents?
Send a redacted or partial sample if the data is confidential. I delete all files after delivery.
