Need a Linux server set up properly, fixed, or locked down? I have run Unix and Linux systems from the command line since 1978, and I do this work carefully.


I can help with:

- New VPS setup on DigitalOcean, Hetzner, Linode, Vultr, AWS, and similar

- Nginx web server and reverse proxy setup

- Free SSL certificates with automatic renewal

- SSH hardening: key logins, no password logins for root

- Firewall setup (UFW or nftables) and Fail2Ban

- Automatic security updates

- Automated backups, with a test restore

- Fixing broken sites, 502 errors, full disks, and services that will not start

How I work: I check the server before changing anything, keep a record of every change, and make sure you do not get locked out. Every job gets a quality check before delivery, and you get a short handover note with what was done and how to log in.


You keep ownership of your server and accounts. I suggest creating a separate user for me and removing it when we are done.
