I will optimize your slow sql queries and fix performance issues

About this Gig
Your queries used to be fast. Now they're not, and you're not sure why.
I diagnose slow SQL execution plans, missing indexes, non-sargable
filters and deliver a tested, rewritten fix with a plain explanation
of what was wrong and why the rewrite works. Not a guess: every fix is
verified to return the exact same results as the original, just faster.
20+ years of hands-on SQL Server experience in a commercial bank's
payment operations, where a query that timed out wasn't an inconvenience
it was a real problem. That same discipline applies here.
What's in scope: query troubleshooting, execution plan review, indexing
recommendations, and rewrites from your schema or sample data, no live
database access required.
What's not in scope: live production database access, new infrastructure
setup, or hosting/administration of a database platform. If that's what
you need, this isn't the right gig happy to say so upfront rather than
take it on and figure it out on your dime.
Send your slow query and a description of the schema (or a sample of your
data) and I'll tell you exactly what's happening before you commit to a
tier.

FAQ
1. Do I need to give you access to my live database?
No. You share your schema (table structures) or a sample of your data — never a live connection. I diagnose and rewrite the query against that, you run the tested fix yourself.
2. How do I know the "optimized" version still returns the right results?
Every rewrite is checked against the original query to confirm it returns identical results — not just faster, but correct. A faster query that returns wrong data isn't a fix.
3. Do you do database administration, backups, or server setup?
No. This is query-level troubleshooting and optimization — reading execution plans, recommending indexes, rewriting queries. It doesn't include live infrastructure, hosting, or admin work.
4. What databases do you work with?
SQL Server / MS SQL and SQLite. If your database is something else, message me first and I'll tell you honestly whether I'm the right fit.
5. What if you look at my query and can't improve it?
Then I'll tell you that plainly instead of forcing a change that doesn't help — some queries are already about as fast as the underlying data and hardware allow. You won't be charged for a rewrite that isn't a real improvement.
