I will write your nonfiction book proposal
Book proposals that impress
About this Gig
Whether you've just started writing or you have a completed manuscript, I can help you create a comprehensive book proposal that will reflect your unique vision and voice and stand out to agents and publishers.
As an experienced nonfiction book editor at one of the world's largest publishing houses, I have worked with numerous New York Times bestselling authors. Many of my clients land agents almost immediately with my work.
By taking into account industry trends, competitive works, author marketability, and more, I will help you create a professional book proposal that will include:
- A detailed overview
- A list of key competitive titles
- An annotated table of contents
- An accurate and compelling market analysis
- A target audience section
- An author bio
With this gig, you'll receive a polished proposal that's ready to be pitched to agents or shopped around to publishers.
How this gig works: once you place an order, you'll be prompted to send me any and all relevant material. Then, I'll get to work based on what you've sent me.
*This does not include sample chapter editing or writing, or red-lined editing.

FAQ
How long did you work in publishing?
Three years! During that time, I read through hundreds of book proposals to determine which ones were worth pursuing and which were not.
What's your specialty?
My expertise is in nonfiction: self-help, wellness, health, memoir, etc.
Do you have any examples of nonfiction book proposals you've created?
I do! However, most proposals are ghostwritten. Meaning, I'm not at liberty to share a full sample. But, if you message me, I'd be happy to send you a sample of one section of a proposal I've written.
What do material do you need to write a proposal?
Once you place an order, you'll be prompted to send relevant material including any sample material (edited or unedited), a table of contents (working of final), etc. If you don't have all of these materials, don't worry! Message me, and we'll create a custom offer.
What if I don't have the entire book written?
That's okay! I always prefer to read the entire book, but, if you have sample chapters and some other relevant material, I can work with that!
Do you write query letters and/or tailored marketing & promotion plans?
I do! Those are add-ons/extras. I will edit an existing query letter for +$50, write a query letter for +$100, and write tailored marketing & promotion plans for +$50.
Where have your proposals landed?
My proposals have landed with Great Central Publishing, Macmillan, Penguin Random House, and more.
Does a book proposal guarantee a book deal?
No, it does not. Unfortunately, publishing is incredibly competitive. A book proposal is necessary for pitching agents/publishers but having one does not guarantee a book deal.
I have a book idea but I'm stuck on the table of contents—can you help?
I can! Message me and we can determine a custom order for your needs.
Will you tell me if you think my book is good enough to be published?
This gig is only to write your proposal based on the material and goals you've sent me. If you would like honest feedback about your work, and my professional opinion on whether or not I think you should pursue traditional publishing vs. trade, please connect with me for a custom offer.

I had written a couple of drafts and was stuck with trying to complete the submission deadline. I found Rachel after suggesting Fiver to a friend who...
