What is a digital pet profile and how does it work?
A digital pet profile is a webpage that shows your pet's full information — name, breed, photo, your contact details, medical info, and their last scanned location. I generate a unique QR code that links directly to this page. When someone finds your pet and scans the QR code on the tag with their p
Does the QR code or profile ever expire?
No. The profile link and QR code are permanent and will never expire. Once I create it, it works forever. The QR code points to a dedicated web page that is always accessible as long as you keep your tag.
What file will I receive?
You'll receive a high-resolution QR code image (PNG, 1200×1200 pixels, 300 DPI equivalent — suitable for engraving or printing at any size) and a permanent profile link you can also share directly. Take the PNG to any engraver, print shop, or online service like Etsy or Amazon to have it engraved on
What information do I need to provide?
For the Basic package: pet's name and your phone number. For Standard/Premium: pet's name, species, breed, age, your name, phone, WhatsApp, email, city, and optionally a pet photo, vet name, allergies, medications, and emergency contact. I'll send you a simple form after you order to make it easy.
What is the scan alert email feature?
When someone scans your pet's QR tag, the system automatically logs their GPS location and sends you an email notification with the approximate location of the scan. This is incredibly useful if your pet goes missing — you'll know exactly where and when the tag was last scanned.
Can I update the profile after it's created?
Yes! One revision is included in the Standard and Premium packages. This means if you change your phone number, move to a new city, or want to add a new photo, I can update it. For ongoing updates, consider adding the "Lifetime Profile Updates" extra at checkout.
Is this different from regular pet ID tags?
Yes, significantly. A regular engraved tag can only show your name and phone number (and the engraving wears off over time). A PawTag QR tag shows your full contact info, a tap-to-call button, the pet's medical details, emergency contacts, and even the last scanned location on a map.
What if my pet's information changes?
The QR code itself never changes, but the information it links to can be updated at any time. If you change your phone number or get a new photo, just contact me and I can update the profile. The same QR code on the tag will show the new information instantly.
Does the person scanning need an app?
No app required at all. Any modern smartphone's built-in camera app can scan the QR code automatically. Just open the camera, point it at the QR code, and the profile opens instantly in the browser. Works on iPhone, Android, and every phone made in the last 10+ years.
Where do I get the physical tag engraved?
That's not included in this gig — I only provide the digital QR code and profile. For the physical tag, you can use local engravers, pet shops, or online services on Etsy, Amazon, or Alibaba that sell custom QR pet tags.
