Gig Summary
About this gig
Moving a live WordPress site, or bringing one back from a backup, should follow a plan you can check.
I have handled 700+ website migrations since 2019. Every move follows the same steps:
1. Check the current site: PHP version, plugins, database size, email and DNS records.
2. Take a full files and database backup and keep it until you approve the new site.
3. Copy the site to the new host and test it on a temporary URL before any DNS change.
4. Switch DNS, set up SSL, and check pages, forms, logins and checkout.
5. Send completion notes listing what moved and what changed.
BEST FOR
Host to host moves, domain changes, subdomain to root, staging to live, WooCommerce and membership sites, and broken or half finished migrations.
On most sites visitors see little or no downtime, because the new copy is tested before the switch. DNS and email changes depend on providers outside my control, so I plan the cutover for your quietest hours.
Message me before ordering if the site is infected, larger than 10 GB, or on a custom server, so I can confirm the scope.
Respect third-party rights
Please be aware that it is against Fiverr's policies for sellers to include themes, templates, or any other elements that infringe third-party rights or applicable laws in the delivered work. Read more about in our Guide to Responsible Digital Creation.

Developer and DevOps engineer since 2019. I do the technical work on every order myself.
On Fiverr I take four kinds of jobs:
- Fixing and finishing apps built with Lovable, Bolt, Replit or Cursor
- WordPress and website migrations (700+ so far)
- Malware cleanup for hacked sites (350+ so far)
- Server security and PCI DSS technical fixes
Before I change anything I take a backup and confirm the scope in writing. When I deliver, you get notes on what I changed.

FAQ
Will my site go down during the migration?
On most sites visitors see little or no downtime, because I test the new copy on a temporary URL before switching DNS. Stores with live orders need a short content freeze, which I schedule with you.
Which hosts have you migrated to and from?
Shared hosts such as Namecheap, GoDaddy, Hostinger, Bluehost and SiteGround, managed WordPress hosts, and cloud servers on DigitalOcean, AWS and Google Cloud. If your host is not listed, message me.
How do you keep my data safe?
I take a full files and database backup before any change and keep it until you approve the new site. If something goes wrong, the original site is still in place.
Can you change my domain name during the move?
Yes. I update the URLs in the database, set up redirects from the old domain, and update DNS records and SSL.
Do custom themes and plugins move correctly?
Yes. Everything in the files and database moves as is. I check custom functionality after the move and list anything that depends on the old server, such as hard coded paths or cron jobs.
What access do you need?
Login details for the old and new hosting accounts, WordPress admin, and the domain registrar or DNS provider if DNS changes are needed.
Do you help after the migration?
Yes. Each package includes support for issues caused by the move. The top package includes 7 days of support.
Manual or plugin migration?
Healthy sites can move with a migration plugin. Large, damaged or infected sites move manually: files over SFTP or SSH and the database by export and import.
