I will clean, match, remove duplicates, and validate excel or CSV data
About this Gig
Do you have an Excel or CSV file with inconsistent formatting, duplicate rows, missing values, or records that need to be matched?
I will clean, organize, and validate your data so it is easier to use, review, or import.
Depending on the package, I can:
standardize text, dates, numbers, and column formats
identify and remove or flag duplicates
correct clear data inconsistencies
match records across up to three files
separate matched, uncertain, and unmatched records
provide an exception or QA summary
I bring approximately 10 years of accounting and financial-reporting experience, with a strong focus on accuracy, reconciliation, source-file preservation, and traceable changes. I use automation where appropriate, but I personally review every delivery.
One item means one spreadsheet row or record.
Please contact me before ordering if your files contain sensitive data, require OCR or web research, exceed the package limits, use unusual formats, or involve complex matching rules.
FAQ
What counts as one item?
One item means one spreadsheet row or database record. For example, a file containing 100 data rows counts as 100 items. Header rows are not counted.
Which file formats do you accept?
I primarily accept Excel files such as XLSX or XLS and CSV files. I can also work with a Google Sheets file exported to Excel or CSV. Please contact me before ordering if you have a PDF, scanned document, database export, or unusual file format.
What is the difference between the three packages?
Basic is for straightforward cleaning, formatting, and duplicate identification in one file. Standard supports up to two files and includes data correction, record matching, and an exception report. Premium supports up to three files, more advanced matching, confidence review, and a QA summary.
Can you match records between two spreadsheets?
Yes. Record matching is included in the Standard and Premium packages. I can use fields such as name, email, phone number, address, reference number, product code, or transaction amount. Please explain which fields should determine a match.
Will you delete duplicate records?
I preserve your original source files and work on copies. Duplicates can be removed, flagged, or placed in a separate worksheet based on your instructions. If you do not specify a preference, I will flag them for review rather than permanently remove them.
What information do you need before starting?
Please provide the source files, required output format, matching or cleanup rules, fields that identify unique records, instructions for handling duplicates, any columns that must not be changed, and your deadline. An example of the desired output is also helpful.
Do you use automation or AI?
I may use automation or AI-assisted tools where appropriate, but I personally review the final output and apply quality-control checks. Please tell me before ordering if your data is confidential or if you require a workflow that does not use external AI services.
What is included in a revision?
A revision covers corrections needed to meet the requirements originally agreed upon. New files, additional rows, new matching rules, a different output structure, or a change in project scope may require an extra service or custom offer.
Do you work with scanned PDFs or perform web scraping?
OCR, scanned-document extraction, website scraping, and online research are not included in the standard packages. Please contact me before ordering so I can review the source, confirm whether the work is permitted, and provide a custom quote.
