Setting your novel on the right track in its early stages is crucial. This is best done through beta reading. While my assessment will not include grammatical corrections, typo fixes, or line edits (although these are available for an additional fee), I focus my feedback from a reader-centric perspective. My input will address theme, central conflict, setting, POV, author voice, big picture issues, scope, and plot.
You will receive a 2-3 page written breakdown of what is and what isn't working in your novel. This will be a thorough, overarching critique that'll help you construct riveting characters your readers will care about as well as a plotline that goes on to hit important story-beats. Each and every chapter of your book should serve a purpose, move the story forward, and grip the reader.

What's the difference between beta reading and a developmental edit?
Beta reading is a manuscript assessment from a reader's vantage point. It focuses on scene/chapter issues. Developmental editing addresses content on a line/paragraph basis, scrutinizing the technicalities of your novel.
