I will make your API retry safe with idempotency keys

About this gig
One dropped connection shouldn't charge your customer twice.
When a payment request times out, your client retries. When a webhook delivery fails, Stripe sends it again. When a background job stalls, the queue re-runs it. If those paths aren't idempotent, every retry repeats the work: double charges, duplicate orders, duplicate emails, and angry customers.
I audit your retry paths and make them safe. I built idempotency-key, exactly-once delivery into the core of a production email platform, so this is work I do every day, not theory.
What you get:
- A written audit of every place a retry can duplicate work in your system
- - Idempotency keys implemented on your critical paths: payments, webhooks, background jobs
- - Duplicate detection and safe retry semantics, covered by tests
Order the audit first if you want the hazards mapped before changing code. Message me before ordering the larger packages so we can scope your critical paths.

FAQ
What do you need from me to start?
Access to the codebase (or the relevant services), plus a short note on where duplicates hurt most: payments, webhooks, emails, or background jobs.
Which stacks do you work with?
Node.js and TypeScript backends, AWS (Lambda, SQS, Step Functions), Redis and BullMQ queues, and Stripe or similar payment webhooks. If your stack differs, message me first.
Will this break my existing API?
No. Idempotency keys are backward compatible: clients that don't send a key behave exactly as before.
