About this gig
Have a 2D game idea but not ready to commit to full development?
I will turn the core concept into a playable Unity prototype so you can test the gameplay, validate the idea, and decide what happens next.
I am a game developer with 30+ years of experience and more than 70 released games across PC, console, mobile and web.
The aim is not simply to make something that runs, but to build a prototype that feels like a real game and gives you useful answers.
Depending on the package, your prototype can include:
- Core player controls and gameplay mechanics
- Enemies, scoring, health, collectables or progression
- Basic UI and player feedback
- 13 prototype/test levels
- Placeholder, supplied or agreed assets
- A playable build plus Unity source code
Ideal for testing a new game idea, proving a mechanic, preparing a pitch, or creating the foundation for a larger project.
Not sure which package fits? Message me with your idea, and I'll help you choose the right starting point.

FAQ
What exactly is a game prototype?
A prototype is a playable version of your core idea, designed to test gameplay and key systems before you invest in a complete game. It focuses on proving the concept rather than producing all the content of a finished release.
Which package should I choose?
Choose Core Prototype for one main mechanic or idea, Developed Prototype for several connected systems, and Polished Prototype when you need a more complete gameplay loop for testing or pitching. If you are unsure, message me before ordering.
What do you need from me to get started?
A description of your idea is enough to begin a conversation. References, sketches, design documents, example games and any artwork or assets you already have are useful, but you do not need a finished game design document.
What does 1, 2 or 3 prototype levels mean?
These are prototype or test areas used to demonstrate the agreed mechanics and gameplay. They are not equivalent to fully produced levels for a finished commercial game.
Will I receive the Unity source code?
Yes. Source code is included with every package, so the prototype can be developed further after delivery.
Can the prototype become a full game later?
Yes. A well-planned prototype can form the starting point for further development. If the concept works and you want to continue, we can discuss the next stage as a separate project.
What artwork and animation are included?
A prototype may use supplied assets, suitable placeholder assets or agreed project assets depending on the package. Basic includes what is needed to demonstrate the gameplay; dedicated animation work is included from Standard or can be added as an extra.
