I will audit and strategize your creative business
About this Gig
A focused strategy session for indie creators who need clarity on how to position, and grow the brand and IP they've built before they take any big steps that involve a lot of time and money they may not have.
I work with small studios, self-published authors, and independent creators navigating the business side of their creative work. My approach draws on graduate research into intellectual property and the global creative economy, alongside firsthand experience building and trademarking my own IP as a self-published author.
Each audit includes a short intake questionnaire, a 60-minute strategy call, and a written report covering your market positioning and a prioritized set of next steps.
Standard includes a 90 day roadmap on top of the initial assessment.
Premium offers a deck of recommendations and 30 days of asynchronous strategic advisory support to address further questions for next steps in your process.
Please note: This is business strategy, not legal advice so if something in your situation calls for a lawyer, I'll tell you plainly.

FAQ
Do you work with all types of creative projects?
I work primarily with self-published authors, small creative studios, filmmakers, and indie game developers, because these are the areas where I have direct, lived experience. If your project falls outside that, reach out and I'll tell you honestly whether I'm the right fit.
What's your background in this?
Graduate research in intellectual property and the global creative economy, plus firsthand experience building, trademarking, and growing my own self-published IP. I also have an MBA and a decade of strategic communications experience. I bring both the research lens and the practitioner's view.
Will this guarantee a publishing deal, licensing offer, or adaptation?
No, and I won't promise outcomes I can't control. What I can offer is clarity on your IP position and a realistic, prioritized path forward which is the kind of groundwork that makes those opportunities more likely, but not a guarantee.
Is this legal advice?
No. This is business and creative strategy consulting. I'll help you think through positioning and next steps, but I'm not a lawyer, and nothing in our session constitutes legal advice. If your situation calls for a lawyer, I'll tell you.
Can you review my contract or licensing offer?
I can give you a business-strategy read: Does this deal make sense for your goals? How does it compare to typical terms for the industry? Are there red flags worth raising with a lawyer? You should still consult a lawyer to vet the specific clauses of the offer.
