Why work with me?
I'll give you the perspective of a reader and the guidance of a writer.
As well as inline comments and a reader report, I also provide chapter-by-chapter reader reactions, including my predictions, questions, and emotional investment going forward. This allows you to see exactly what expectations your writing is creating in a first-time reader.
Inline comments will cover:
- How much the scene holds my attention
- Character consistency & development
- Realism of dialogue

- Clarity issues/Awkward wording
- Particularly effective phrasing
The end of chapter reader reaction will focus on:
- Predictions

Do you use AI?
No, I never use AI. All feedback is my own.
Do you offer editing?
Yes, but this gig is for beta reading only. I may make suggestions, but I will not re-write anything. If you would like me to do so, please check out my line editing gig. I also offer proofreading.
What formats do you accept?
Please provide me with a Mac Pages, Google Docs, or a Word DOCX file so I can add inline comments.
What genres do you prefer?
I'm open to any genre, but I especially like literary fiction, (dark) coming of age, (dark) romance, mystery, cosy mystery, thrillers, fantasy and sci-fi.
Are you comfortable with dark content?
Yes. I welcome a wide range of genres, including dark, taboo, and challenging themes. I really enjoy provocative ideas.
Is there anything you don't read?
I’m not a fan of extremely gore-heavy material. One or two scenes is fine, but if that is a fundamental part of your story, I may not be the best beta reader for you.
Do you accept manuscripts over 80,000 words?
Yes. Feel free to message me if your project is longer than 80,000 words. Tell me the word count and what genre it is, and I'll give you a custom quote. :)
