Since 2023, I have served as my own sports scientist and worked with gymnasts who sought my expertise in strength, conditioning, and performance optimization. Key Responsibilities: Designed and implemented custom periodized training programs for peak performance Conducted regular fitness assessments and biomechanical evaluations Managed training load, volume, intensity, and recovery protocols Created individualized strength and conditioning plans targeting specific weaknesses Developed competition peaking strategies and deload protocols Major Achievements: 2023: Successfully prepared myself for the World University Games and African Championships using science-based periodization and self-designed programming. Late 2023-2024: After sustaining a major knee injury (PCL and medial/lateral meniscus reconstruction) requiring surgery, I collaborated with biokineticists and physiotherapists during the initial rehabilitation phase. Once cleared, I independently managed my return-to-sport protocol, successfully preparing myself to make the 2025 National Team despite missing most of the 2024 season. 2025: Expanded my practice to coach student gymnasts, providing comprehensive strength and conditioning programming and load management. Simultaneously continued self-coaching, successfully preparing for National Championships where I placed 2nd in the country. Qualified for and made the 2026 National Team for African Championships. 2026: Currently preparing for African Championships, with ongoing goals to qualify for Commonwealth Games and World Championships.
