Welcome! My name's Sam, and I'll beta-read your novel with expert detail, insight and constructive feedback from my experience as a professional editor at a more affordable cost than an edit.

Yes! If you have a longer word count or a shorter piece or want me to beta read only a small extract, please contact me. I will beta-read any length book.
What genres do you read?
In my free time, I read a great deal of fantasy, sci-fi, historical fiction, lgbt fiction, and m/m romance. As a author, I write epic fantasy, historical fantasy, and sci-fi books with lgbt characters with a m/m romance. I edit developmentally for all these genres too.
What do you mean by an expert beta-read by a professional editor?
Unlike a usual beta-read, I offer insightful developmental feedback on your structure and characters: where there are holes, problems, and crucially how to improve. However, please bear in mind this is still a beta-read not an editorial assessment but I'm much more insightful than normal reading
What do you offer that's different to a usual beta-read?
My services aim to be an in-between between a casual beta-read and an editorial assessment. I read the book once like a beta-reader, but my report is longer at 2,000-5,000 words and I read by paying close attention to the deeper craft progression of plot and characters, unlike a surface level read
Do you read books written by A.I. and/or do you use A.I.?
Absolutely not to both. I do not use A.I. at all and I am ethically against A.I. in the creative sphere. Please do not send me A.I. works.

The commentary made it clear to me what I need to clarify in the story before I publish it. While some elements in my story he didn't like I feel are set in stone (the cast of 12, the supernatural elements), I will take his other ideas to heart.
