About this gig
I am a Mechanical engineer (BS/MS), 7+ years in CFD. I handle end-to-end work that include CAD cleanup, physics setup, high-quality boundary-layer meshing (targeted y+), solver runs, verification, and decision-ready reports.
Softwares i uses are as ANSYS Fluent/CFX, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM, COMSOL; meshing in ANSYS Meshing/ICEM, snappyHexMesh; post in CFD-Post/ParaView/Tecplot; automation with Python/MATLAB.
The applications on which i work are external aerodynamics (cars/UAV/HAWT), rotating machinery (fans/pumps/compressors/turbines), pressure-drop (ducts/nozzles/valves), HVAC/cleanrooms, electronics/BMS cooling & CHT, mixers/impellers, aeroacoustics, multiphase/species.
The Simulations methodology do include RANS (k-ε, k-ω SST), DES/LES when needed; steady/transient, CHT, MRF/sliding mesh, porous media, design optimization/DOE.

I am Sam, a mechanical engineer with a BS and an MS and ten years in simulation led design and manufacturing. My core skills are CFD and FEA paired with clean parametric CAD and design for manufacturing so concepts become production ready. What do you need to start?
CAD (STEP/IGES), brief/objective, units, fluid properties, boundary conditions (flows/pressures/temps), priority metrics, and deadline.
Which software do you use?
ANSYS Fluent/CFX, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM, COMSOL; meshing in ANSYS Meshing/ICEM & snappyHexMesh; post in ParaView/Tecplot/CFD-Post.
What deliverables will I receive?
Project files, mesh/solver settings, convergence plots, contours/streamlines, forces/coefficients, pressure-drop table, and a clear PDF report (video optional).
Can you create or fix CAD?
Yes. I can model/repair/simplify in SolidWorks/Inventor, make watertight geometry, and prep for meshing. Complex modeling is scoped separately.
Turnaround and revisions?
Typical 3–7 days depending on cases/physics. Revisions per package; minor tweaks free. New geometry or physics = new scope.
How do you ensure accuracy?
Mesh-independence checks, appropriate turbulence models (e.g., k-ω SST), verification vs hand calcs/benchmarks, and best-practice/ASME V&V-20 guidelines.
What physics/applications can you handle?
Aerodynamics, heat transfer/CHT, HVAC, rotating machinery (MRF/sliding), mixing, species/multiphase, and aeroacoustics. Results supplied in PDF/PNG/CSV/MP4 as needed.
