Depends what's broken right now, if the site has real technical issues like slow load times, bad Core Web Vitals, or missing structured data, fixing those genuinely moves the needle, if the site's already technically solid then it's more about content and backlinks, which is a separate conversation.
What's your turnaround time, realistically?
Depends on scope, but I give a real timeline upfront based on the actual brief, not a padded one to look safe, and I flag it immediately if something's going to run long instead of going quiet.
Do you only build the site, or do you also help it perform after launch?
Both, a lot of my work is fixing sites that look fine but aren't converting or ranking, so I look at the technical side, the SEO side, and how visitors actually move through the site, not just the visual build.
My site already looks fine, why would I need any of this?
Looking fine and performing well aren't the same thing, plenty of sites look clean but load slow, aren't structured for SEO, or lose visitors at the checkout step, that's usually where the real problem is hiding.
I've been burned before by a freelancer who ghosted midway, how is this different?
Fair concern, that's exactly why I break work into checkpoints with visible progress instead of one big handoff at the end, so you're never waiting in the dark on a deliverable.
Can you work with what I already have, or do you need to rebuild everything?
Most of the time I work with what's there, rebuilding from scratch is rare and only makes sense if the existing setup is actually holding things back, not just because it's older.
How do I know the SEO work is actually doing anything?
You'll get reporting tied to real numbers, rankings, traffic, Core Web Vitals scores, not vague summaries, so you can see the before and after instead of taking it on faith.
What do you actually need from me to get started?
Access to the site or platform, and clarity on what's not working or what you want changed, I don't need a fully polished brief, a rough idea of the pain point is enough for me to figure out the rest.
