NBC

Senior Content Producer

NBC • Full-time

Jul 2004 - Oct 2022 • 18 yrs 3 mos

Nearly 20 years producing content for E! and NBCUniversal, the network that defined entertainment coverage for a generation. Worked the biggest nights in the business — the Oscars, Grammys, Emmys, and ESPYs — where content has to be sharp, accurate, and ready the second the cameras go live. No second takes. Wrote scripts and segments, voice tracked, and produced content across live broadcasts and interviews. Worked directly with A-list talent, influencers, beauty brands, celebrity chefs, and beyond — making a celebrity comfortable in a 90-second window, making a brand sound like a story instead of an ad, and writing for the camera so it sounds like a person talking, not copy being read. Hit deadlines that didn't move. Wrote lines household names would actually say out loud. Kept the energy up on hour nine of a live event. Took rough ideas from producers, publicists, and brands and turned them into something that aired.

CBS

Producer, Writer, Reporter

CBS • Freelance

Jan 1999 - Dec 2004 • 5 yrs 11 mos

Reporter and anchor at KNX Radio, CBS, Radio, the all-news powerhouse of Los Angeles and one of the oldest, most respected news stations in the country. All-news radio is the toughest writing discipline there is: every story gets seconds, not minutes, and it has to be clear the first time because the listener can't rewind. Wrote and delivered news for one of the largest audiences in the second-biggest market in America, on a clock that reset every hour.

PBS

Reporter, Writer, Producer

PBS • Freelance

Apr 1997 - Nov 1999 • 2 yrs 7 mos

Reporter and producer for Los Angeles public television, KCET's Life and Times, the flagship PBS station in the country's second-largest market. Public TV is a different discipline: longer-form stories, deeper reporting, and writing that has to hold an audience without the tricks of commercial news. This sharpened the storytelling side of the job — structure, pacing, and knowing when to let a moment breathe.

Leah did an excellent job creating videos for Unfiltered Wisdom™’s social media and website. She was responsive, quick, and understood the assignment from the start. Her creativity brought my vision to life, and she made the entire process easy. I’m thrilled with the results and will definitely work with her again. Highly recommend!
