This is reading and reporting. It is not editing. I will not mark up your sentences, fix your grammar, or line edit your prose. If that is what you need, order my line editing gig instead.
If I find your manuscript needs structural work before a beta read is worth your money, I will tell you plainly, and we can talk about a custom developmental package.

FAQ
Is beta reading the same as editing?
No. Beta reading is me responding as a reader: where the pacing sagged, where I got confused, where I stopped believing a character. Editing is me working on your sentences. If you want your prose marked up, you want my line editing gig instead.
Will you fix my grammar and typos?
Not in a beta read. I may mention it if something is distracting, but I will not correct it. That is proofreading, and it is a separate service.
My book is longer than 90,000 words. What do I do?
Message me with your word count, and I will send you a custom offer at a lower per-word rate. Long manuscripts are welcome; they just need their own timeline.
What if my manuscript is not ready for a beta read?
I will tell you honestly rather than take your money. If a book needs structural work first, a beta read will only tell you things you already suspect. We can build a developmental package instead.
Do I need to send you a questionnaire?
No, but it helps. If you have specific worries, send them and I will answer each one directly on top of everything else I noticed.
What genres do you read?
Anything that your imagination can come up with! Fantasy, romance, literary fiction, science fiction, horror, thriller, and children’s books. I have been an omnivorous fiction reader since kindergarten.
