I am Muhammad Shahbaz, working as a Maintenance Engineer at Attock Refinery Limited, responsible for ensuring the smooth, safe, and reliable operation of plant and offsite facilities. My role includes maintaining rotary and stationary equipment, planning preventive maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and ensuring minimum downtime to support continuous production. I coordinate closely with operations and maintenance teams to resolve technical issues and implement long-term reliability solutions. I supervise and manage various mechanical projects, including construction and repair of storage tanks, execution of piping works, equipment overhauling, and site modifications. My responsibilities include contractor supervision, material verification, quality assurance, safety compliance, and ensuring that project activities meet engineering standards and regulatory requirements. I also handle the procurement cycle for engineering spares and equipment. This includes preparing RFQs, inviting quotations from approved vendors, conducting detailed technical evaluations, preparing comparison statements, obtaining approvals from management, issuing purchase recommendations, and finally inspecting delivered materials at the General Material Store to ensure quality and compliance with specifications. Additionally, I coordinate inter-department meetings to resolve technical queries, clarify scope, and streamline communication between maintenance, operations, projects, and procurement teams. My overall focus is to enhance asset reliability, improve maintenance efficiency, reduce operational risks, and contribute to safe and sustainable plant performance.
