Budget Control and Financial Planning In my role as a budget controller, I was responsible for supporting the organisation's budgeting and financial planning processes. I worked closely with senior management and departmental managers to prepare annual budgets and monitor monthly spending to ensure financial discipline. My duties included forecasting revenues and expenses, reviewing financial data, and identifying potential risks that could affect business performance. I regularly performed variance analysis by comparing actual results with budgeted figures to identify differences and explain the reasons behind them. Based on this analysis, I provided recommendations to management to improve cost control and maintain financial efficiency. KPI Monitoring and Performance Management Another important part of my role involved monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure business performance. I worked with different departments to identify KPIs that reflected the organisation's strategic priorities, including revenue growth, profitability, and cost efficiency. I helped design KPI reports and dashboards that allowed management to easily track performance across departments. By analysing KPI results regularly, I identified trends, highlighted underperforming areas, and suggested actions to improve performance. Competitor and Economic Analysis I was also responsible for conducting competitor and economic analysis to support business planning and strategy. This involved reviewing industry reports, market data, and publicly available financial information to assess the performance and strategies of key competitors. The purpose of this analysis was to help management understand market trends and identify potential risks or opportunities in the industry. In addition, I monitored economic indicators such as inflation, interest rates, and economic growth to evaluate how external factors could affect the organization’s financial performance.
